Go Safe · TU Europa · for visitors, students and workers
Health insurance for foreigners in Poland
Insurance for foreigners who come to Poland as tourists, students or workers, and for Poles who live permanently abroad. It covers you outside your country of permanent residence, including in Poland. Go Safe is on the list, published by the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, of insurance that meets the entry requirements, and the Standard plan and above meet the statutory minimum of EUR 30,000.
- Where it works
- Worldwide, including Poland, except your country of residence. If you live permanently outside your country of citizenship, you have two countries of residence: the country where you live and the country of your citizenship (General Terms § 2 pt 11). In the purchase form, you choose the area: Poland only (“Polska”) or Poland and the world (“Polska i Świat”). The Car Assistance module covers European countries only.
- For how long
- For the period stated in the contract. Cover ends early if you return to your country of residence before then (General Terms § 5 sec. 3).
- From when
- From the date stated in the contract, but not before you have crossed the border of your country of residence on leaving it and paid the premium (General Terms § 5 sec. 2).
Is Go Safe the right insurance for you?
Go Safe is for you if
- your country of permanent residence is not Poland, and you are travelling to Poland or staying there for a limited time;
- you are a Pole who lives permanently abroad and visits Poland.
Go Safe is not for you if
- Poland is your country of permanent residence. If you live in Poland and travel abroad, you need Travel World (it does not cover Poland or your country of citizenship).
If you live in Poland on a temporary residence permit and you are not sure whether Poland counts as your country of permanent residence, write to us before you buy: info@tripcover.pl. We have asked the insurer to clarify this point.
Visa, residence card and border entry
Article 25 of the Polish Act on Foreigners sets health insurance conditions for foreigners who enter Poland. The Minister of Foreign Affairs publishes a list of insurance that meets these conditions, and Go Safe is on it. The statutory minimum is EUR 30,000 of medical cover, which the Standard, Standard Plus and Optimum plans meet. The Mini plan (EUR 20,000) does not.
The authority handling your visa or residence card application has the final say on the requirements in your case, so check with it before you buy. We can provide information, but we cannot confirm that a particular office will accept a particular policy.
